KIM Chee Eun
Born in Sourth Korea, Kim Chee Eun began piano studies at the age of six. While in her native country she was winner of several competitions, including those sponsored by two prestigious newspapers, The HanKook Ilbo and The Kyung Jae Times. In addition to many solo and chamber music concerts, she performed the Grieg Piano concerto as soloist with the Rumania National Orchestra. She received her Bachelor’s degree in 1999 from Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, Korea, and her Master of Music degree in 2001 from the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Arcady Aronov. She had her New York recital debut at the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie hall on October 2001, the special Presentation Award’s Recipient sponsored by the Artist International Presentation Inc. She had a solo recital at the Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University on February 2005. Ms Kim served as the main accompanist in Siloam Presbyterian Church and Elim Church in Atlanta, USA, from 2001 to 2006. She was the accompanist of the Woman’s Choir in Korean Television Network. Recently, she had a piano recital in January 2008 at NTU-ExxonMobil and Singapore Bible College.
LEE Heejung
Dr Lee Heejung received her Bachelor of Music degree from Seoul National University, Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School, and the Doctor of Education from Columbia University, New York. She won many awards in South Korea like the Korean Daily News Competition, the Seoul Ensemble Competition, the Busan Music Competition. She performed in a solo recital in Lincoln Center and became the winner of Artist International Corporation competition held in Carnegie Hall. She was a scholarship student at the Aspen Music Festival and the Grand Teton Music festival. She participated in master classes with Igor Oistrakh, Pierre Amoral, Eric Friedman,and Ida Haendel in Holland Music Sessions. She performed in numerous music festivals such as Lubeck, Siena, Holland, Grand Teton, Aspen, Hampden-Sydney, and Killington festival as a scholarship participant. As a scholar, she was recently selected as a presenter at 9th International Conference of Musical Perception and Cognition, Bologna, Italy. Her book, Violin Portamento: An Analysis of Its Use by Master Violinists in Selected Nineteenth-Century Concerti, was published in Germany by VDM Publishing House in 2009.
